Is Summer Here…
I think by the calendar that summer is coming although the weather may seem to be saying something different. That said the colour of the grass and the trees budding do suggest that we should be there soon. I hope.
With this time of year, comes also construction season. As most of you drive through Haldimand, you cannot help but notice that we have increased considerably the amount of money being put into construction over the past few years. This is good in the sense that decaying infrastructure that needed attention is now getting it. It does pose some challenges for all of us as we endure the disruption of our normal lives trying to negotiate the detours, and the dirt and dust that all goes hand-in-hand with construction. As you have seen with Dunnville and Caledonia, Cayuga and Fisherville and now Jarvis, the other side of construction does look so much better.
This summer residents and businesses of Hagersville will see their town turned upside down as both main and king will be redone along with several side streets. It will not be easy for many and I wish that there were easier ways to accomplish the goals of reconstructing our roads. However, I offer you the communities mentioned above who have endured such and look to the end result as that will be what we can all celebrate in the end.
